How to Customize the Squarespace Order Status Page to Drive More Sales
The Squarespace order status page is one of the most visited pages in your store — and almost no store owner does anything with it. Customers return to it repeatedly while waiting for delivery. Each visit is a re-engagement with your brand from someone who has already bought from you and is already thinking about their purchase.
Here's how to customize your Squarespace order status page to drive more sales — without disrupting the customer experience.
What the Order Status Page Is
The order status page shows customers their order tracking information after purchase — the items they ordered, the delivery address, and the shipping status. Customers typically check this page two to four times per order, each time they want an update on when their delivery will arrive.
By default, Squarespace's order status page is purely functional. There's no way to add content, promotional material, or offers through the standard Squarespace page editor.
Why It's Worth Customizing
Every visit to the order status page is a touchpoint with a warm customer. They've already bought from you. They're already thinking about what they ordered. They're in a browsing-adjacent mindset — not in active buying mode, but open and engaged.
A relevant offer shown at this moment doesn't feel intrusive — it feels like a natural continuation of the customer relationship. Done right, it converts a routine logistics check into additional revenue.
What You Can Add With UpsellGrow
UpsellGrow lets you add product offer widgets to the Squarespace order status page natively — no code required. Four positions are available: top, left, right, and bottom of page.
The offer types that work here:
Cross-sell: A complementary product the customer didn't buy with their original order. Relevant because they're already in the context of that purchase.
FBT (Frequently Bought Together): What customers who bought the same product also tend to purchase. Data-driven relevance that mirrors their peers' behavior.
Bundle: A package that extends their purchase. If they bought the first item in a set, show the complete set as a bundle.
What Makes Order Status Page Offers Different
Unlike product page or cart page offers, order status offers aren't triggered by a specific product being viewed — they're triggered by the completed order as a whole. UpsellGrow's priority rank system determines which offer shows for each order. You set the rank on the Offers page — rank 1 always shows.
This means your order status page strategy should focus on offers that are broadly relevant across your most common product purchases, rather than hyper-specific product pairings.
Best Practices for Order Status Page Offers
Keep it relevant to the category. If your store sells home products and a customer ordered a candle, offer something in the home/lifestyle space — not an unrelated product from a completely different area of your catalog.
Use FBT where possible. The social proof implicit in "customers who bought this also bought" is particularly powerful for return visitors who are already confident in their original purchase.
Don't use urgency language. "Limited time" and "only 3 left" feels manipulative on a page the customer is visiting for logistics information. Let the offer stand on its own relevance.
One offer per page. Priority rank handles this, but make sure you're only surfacing one clean, relevant offer per order status page view.
Setting It Up
Create a new offer in UpsellGrow. Select "Order Status" as the location. Configure the offer type and products. Choose "Right of page" or "Top of page" as the starting position. Publish. Done.
