How to Create and Sell Product Bundles on Your Squarespace Store
Product bundles are one of the most consistent ways to increase average order value in ecommerce. They work because they align customer and merchant interests perfectly: the customer gets more value at a better price, and the store earns more per transaction.
Here's a complete guide to creating and selling product bundles on your Squarespace store.
Why Bundles Work
Three psychological principles drive bundle conversions:
Perceived value: Getting multiple products at a combined discount feels like a better deal than buying each separately, even if the customer would have bought them all anyway.
Reduced decision fatigue: A curated bundle makes the "what should I buy?" decision for the customer. Instead of browsing across your catalog, they get a pre-selected combination that someone has already validated.
Completion: A bundle that represents a "complete set" — a full skincare routine, a complete kitchen set, a starter kit for a hobby — satisfies the human desire for completeness.
Does Squarespace Support Product Bundles?
No. Squarespace 7.1 has no native bundle functionality. There's no way to group products, apply conditional discounts, or create package deals through the standard Squarespace interface. A plugin is required.
How to Create and Sell Bundles With UpsellGrow
UpsellGrow handles the complete bundle workflow on Squarespace 7.1.
Creating a Bundle
Go to the Bundles section in UpsellGrow. Click "New Bundle." Name the bundle, add an image or emoji, and add up to 5 products — selecting the fixed variant for each. UpsellGrow calculates the original price automatically from the sum of variant prices. You set the sale price. Save and activate.
Displaying the Bundle
Create a new offer in UpsellGrow, select "Bundle" as the type, choose your bundle, select the page and position, customize the design, and publish. The bundle can appear on product pages, in the slide-out cart, on the cart page, and on the order confirmation page.
What Happens at Checkout
When a customer clicks to add the bundle, the bundle product (created as a hidden Squarespace product by UpsellGrow) is added to their cart. It processes through Squarespace's standard checkout like any other product.
Bundle Strategy: Where to Start
Start with your best-selling product as the anchor. High-traffic products generate more bundle impressions. Pair the anchor with one or two products that complement it naturally.
Price the bundle at 15 to 20 percent off the combined individual prices. Less and the saving doesn't motivate. More and you erode margin unnecessarily.
Show the bundle on the product pages of all included items. If your bundle includes three products, show it on all three product pages — wherever the customer enters, they see the complete set.
Measuring Bundle Performance
UpsellGrow tracks impressions, conversions, and revenue for every bundle offer. After two to three weeks, check: is the conversion rate above 10 percent? If not, look at whether the product combination is compelling, whether the discount is meaningful, and whether the position on the page is right. Adjust one variable at a time.
