How to Create 'Buy Together and Save' Offers on Squarespace
"Buy together and save" offers are one of the most direct ways to increase average order value on a Squarespace store. They're simple: package two or more products, give customers a discount for buying them together, and make the value proposition impossible to miss.
Squarespace doesn't support this natively. Here's how to create it with a plugin.
Why 'Buy Together and Save' Converts
The conversion logic is clean. The customer was already going to buy one product. You show them that buying one or two more right now — in this transaction — saves them money compared to buying separately later. The saving is real and visible. The additional purchase is easy (one click, same checkout). The value is obvious.
This is different from a generic discount or a promotional code. The saving is tied specifically to combining the products — which means customers who were planning to buy one thing get rewarded for buying the combination immediately.
Creating 'Buy Together and Save' Offers With UpsellGrow
UpsellGrow handles this on Squarespace 7.1 through its bundle offer type. Here's the setup:
Building the Bundle
In the Bundles section of UpsellGrow, create a new bundle. Add the products you want to combine (up to 5, with fixed variant selection). UpsellGrow calculates the combined original price automatically. You set the sale price — the discounted "buy together" price. Save and activate.
Displaying the Offer
Create a new offer with "Bundle" as the type, attach the bundle, choose the page and position, and publish. The widget shows: the included products, the original combined price (struck through), the "buy together" price, and the saving amount. Everything the customer needs to evaluate the offer is visible in the widget — no additional explanation required.
Which Products to Bundle
Natural use-case pairs: Products that are genuinely better used together. A skincare serum and a moisturiser. A linen shirt and matching trousers. A coffee grinder and a bag of beans.
Starter kits: If you sell products that customers typically need several of to get started, a starter kit bundle is intuitive. "Everything you need to get started" is a compelling offer frame.
High-frequency repurchase items with accessories: If you sell consumables, bundle them with the non-consumable accessory that goes with them. Customers who buy the bundle tend to be higher-lifetime-value customers because they're already invested in your product ecosystem.
Where the Offer Should Appear
For "buy together and save" offers, the most effective placement is on the product page of any included product. When a customer is viewing one of the bundle's components, they see the "complete it with these and save" message at the right moment — when they're already committed to buying at least one of the items.
Cart page is also strong: the customer can see their current cart total and evaluate whether adding the remaining bundle components at a discount changes their decision.
Communicating the Offer Clearly
The widget heading matters. "Buy together and save" is direct and clear. "Complete the set and save 20%" adds specificity. "Customers also buy these together" adds social proof. Test different headings against your store's voice and your specific product context.
